Adding your first Weareplonet module
Adding your first module usually takes two minutes. This guide walks the whole path — from the catalogue to the first successful run in your Protel account — so nothing is surprising.
Before you start. You need three things: a Weareplonet account (create one from the access page), a live Protel installation, and an API token generated by your Protel administrator following our API credentials guide. If the token is already in your Weareplonet dashboard under Connection settings and shows a green tick, you are ready.
Step 1 — Pick a module from the catalogue. Open the catalogue. Every module page has the exact same layout: what it does, what it needs from your Protel installation, monthly price. Pick something small for your first module — Arrivals Digest or Nightly Trial Balance are good starting points because they are read-only and low-risk.
Step 2 — Add to basket, then checkout. Click "Add to basket", then the basket icon top right, then Checkout. Confirm contact details, accept the terms of service and the Data Processing Agreement, then submit. No card is charged now — your first invoice arrives on the first business day of next month, prorated to the current month.
Step 3 — Activate in the dashboard. Within about 30 seconds of the checkout completing, the module appears in your Weareplonet dashboard under Active modules. Open it, review the default configuration (delivery time, recipient list, filter set), and click "Activate". A confirmation banner appears at the top of the dashboard.
Step 4 — First run. Modules that run on a schedule (Arrivals Digest, Nightly Trial Balance, DATEV Bridge) fire their first run at the next scheduled time — most within 24 hours. Modules that run in real time (Housekeeping Board, Sync Sentinel, F&B POS Bridge) start immediately. Modules with a backfill component (Data Warehouse Bridge, OTA Reconciliation) begin their historical load within an hour and typically complete within a business day.
Step 5 — Verify inside Protel. For write-modules, the outcome is visible inside Protel itself. Rate Update Bridge updates rates that appear immediately in the Protel rate grid; Housekeeping Board's state changes show up in the Protel room-state screen. If you cannot see the expected effect after the first scheduled run, open a ticket at support@weareplonet.org with the module name and the timestamp — we investigate within four hours.
What next. Once the first module has been running for a week and you are comfortable with the workflow, add the second one the same way. The typical property runs three to six modules over time; there is no penalty for adding one, watching it for a month, and only then adding another.
